Informations

The Joshua Tree National Park is located in southeastern California and includes parts of two deserts, each with a fascinating variety of plants and animals. It is named after the Joshua trees (Yucca brevifolia), that grow throughout the park.
We only stayed there for a few hours because of limited time, but i think the best would be to spend there more than half a day to explore the Park.
You should take your own car or rental car to travel and explore the different viewpoints. Follow the link to a Roadmap of the Park: (click here)
The park entrance fee is $20 per car. But if you plan to visit also other national parks in the USA, i really recommend a Interagency Annual Pass for $80 per car. This pass provides access to more than 2,000 recreation areas. (click here)

Started from LA Downtown, we reached Palm Springs after a 2,5h drive. During the ride to the city you will drive through one of the largest wind farms of California.
This is a very good stop to fill in some fuel and drive through the palm avenues.

Palm Springs, CA 92262

Nice city with a lot of palmtrees, but not so special for tourists. A lot of golf courses are nearby.

We didn't made a sightseeing stop, because we wanted to reach on this day Las Vegas and it was already 5:30PM.
So we drove on and after 1h, we reached the Joshua Tree National Park entrance.
We decided to visit only the first bigger point in the National Park, so we drove 25min to the Quail Springs Trail.

There are several places to stop and wander around in this beautiful desert. The Joshua trees themselves are fascinating trees and you also have the option to sleep in one of the campgrounds inside the Park.

If you have more time, you can visit a lot more viewpoints in the park.
But in our case of limited time, this was a very good point to see the style of the park with the joshua trees.
After discovering the area we drove to our next destination, Las Vegas.
